How to Clean Your Wheels Cheaply and Quickly in 4 Steps
May 29, 2025
If your wheels look rusty thanks to years of brake dust buildup, you can restore their luster in just 4 easy steps.
First, rinse your wheels with the hose to remove the top layer of dirt, road grime, and fresh
brake dust. Don’t use a power washer or high-pressure hose setting since that may damage your wheel’s finish. The goal here is to let the cleaners power the corrosion and grime away.
Second, use P&S Iron Buster. Thanks to its pH-balanced formula, this specialized cleaner is
tough on iron deposits and other contaminants while being safe on wheels and painted
surfaces. Spray this on the face and barrel of the wheel, as well as on the brakes to ensure
everything gets cleaned. The solution will turn purple as it lifts contaminants from the wheel surface. After agitation with a detail brush, you are ready to rise again.
Third, spray P&S Brake Buster all over the wheel face, barrel, brake, and tire with a generous and even coat. This unique cleaning gel removes brake dust, stains, and light corrosion. As a bonus, it is safe for all wheel types, including aluminum, steel, chrome, and alloy. If your wheels are painted black or any other color, it won’t damage the paint finish either! Agitagte the entire surface with a wheel and tire brush, making sure to get every nook and cranny that brake dust and grime likes to hide in.
As a bonus, Brake Buster can be diluted down and used in an iK sprayer for even coverage and a professional experience.
Finally, to finish the job, rinse your wheels again and dry them with a microfiber towel such as the Mini Miner or Creature Edgeless to prevent water spots on your newly cleaned rims. After that, bask in their factory-fresh shine. Now that you have the tools and cleaners, you can clean your wheels as often as you want!
