Compounds and polishes remove swirls, scratches, and oxidation by leveling the clear coat with fine abrasives. A rubbing compound cuts deeper defects fast, a car polish refines the finish to high gloss, and all-in-ones do both. We carry Koch-Chemie, RUPES, P&S, Optimum, and The Last Detail.
How to choose the right car polish or compound
- Heavy cut compounds: Koch-Chemie Heavy Cut H9.02 removes deep scratches and sanding marks up to 1,200 grit with minimal dust. Optimum Hyper Compound is a spray compound that removes 1,000-grit and deeper scratches.
- Versatile compounds: The Last Cut Compound lets your pad choice control how aggressive it is. P&S Rehab Correction Creme adapts to different paint hardness, pads, and tools.
- Finishing polishes: Koch-Chemie Micro Cut M3.02 removes holograms and fine scratches and leaves a high-gloss shine, even on dark colors. The Final Polish and RUPES Uno Pure are made for soft or haze-prone paint.
- One-step polishes: Koch-Chemie One Cut & Finish P6.02 cuts and finishes with a built-in sealant. RUPES Uno Protect works as a compound, polish, and protectant in one step.
- Glass and metal polish: P&S Clarity Creme and Gtechniq G4 for glass, and Gtechniq M1 All Metal Polish for chrome, copper, and stainless steel.
Match your polish to your pad
Start with the least aggressive combo that fixes the problem. Some polishes are built for specific pads: RUPES D-A Coarse pairs with RUPES blue coarse foam pads, and RUPES D-A Fine is color-matched to RUPES yellow pads. Shop polishing pads and RUPES polishers, wipe off residue with polishing towels, and read the best towels for polish removal. Then lock it in with a ceramic coating.
